Our client requires a Key Account Manager to join their team

The Role

  • Manage allocated key accounts, ensuring continuity of service exceeding customer expectations on the relevant portfolio.
  • Develop, implement and achieve a business plan with specific targets to manage and grow market share and profitability across the region.
  • Negotiate business contracts and service level agreements with current and new customers.
  • Build business opportunities with current and existing customers.
  • Assist customers at various stages of business, offering choice of materials, advice on material selection and optimum solutions.
  • Participate in the development of sales strategies and initiatives to position the Company for further growth.
  • Introduce new products and product initiatives to customers.
  • Promote and develop relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Provide performance reports and metrics at sales review meetings, identifying areas for improvement and enhancement, and subsequent execution of action plans.
  • Liaise closely with sales support staff to ensure smooth product availability and delivery to customers.
  • To identify and feedback to the parent organization, market and competitor information that will enhance total performance of the business and protect against new emerging companies/products.

The Person

Essential: Degree level qualification in Science preferably Biochemistry.

Experience/key achievements:

  • Significant and established direct selling experience within a similar market sector with responsibility for negotiating business contracts.
  • To have demonstrated excellent management and closing skills in large value sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and deliver on sales targets.
  • Proven track record in business development and market share growth.
  • Some experience conducting and communicating business programs to senior management levels.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Proven ability to map and plan activities with particular emphasis on the prioritization and identification of key requirements.
  • Understanding of the different sales approaches necessary to effectively service both academic and commercial/industrial markets.
  • First rate oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
